WELLNESS
Maintaining wellness while in dental school is crucial for overall health and success. Taking care of our well-being helps us perform academically and clinically, foster resilience, and work towards a balanced lifestyle. By prioritizing self-care, students can optimize their cognitive function, concentration, and memory, leading to improved learning outcomes. Wellness also safeguards mental and emotional health - especially when the pressures of dental school contribute to stress, anxiety, and burnout. Wellness also emphasizes ergonomics and physical health in our profession so we can continually provide quality patient care.
Dental school is a transformative period, but it is vital to maintain a sense of balance and pursue activities beyond academics. Engaging in hobbies, spending time with loved ones, and exercise help students recharge, manage stress, and maintain a well-rounded life.
